A school is only as good as the people in it. At SOLA, educators, psychologists and experts — many of whom are parents of gifted or 2E children themselves — have been working with these children for years.
01 — Our standard
We have assembled a deliberately small, highly profiled team. Every person brings a specific depth — in subject didactics, developmental psychology, therapy or neurodiversity. That is not coincidence but precondition.
Our adult-to-child ratio is one to four. Not because we enjoy being small, but because individual work cannot happen otherwise. That ratio has a cost — which is why SOLA is a non-profit foundation that relies on philanthropic support.

Head of School · Developmental psychologist
Doctorate at ETH Zurich in cognitive development of gifted children. Fifteen years of school practice in Switzerland and Germany; most recently pedagogical lead at a school for gifted children in Hamburg. Mother of a 2E child.

Pedagogical Lead
Primary teacher (EDK) with CAS Giftedness (PH Zurich) and MSc in Educational Science (University of Cambridge). Previously at International School Zurich and a school for gifted children in Munich. Specialist in individualised curriculum.

Psychological Services · 2E
Specialist psychologist for children and adolescents (FSP), learning therapist focused on twice-exceptionality. Lecturer at the University of Basel on neurodivergent learning profiles.

03 — Teachers
Our teachers come from various school types — gymnasium, mainstream, Montessori, international. They share academic depth in their subject and practical experience with gifted children.
German & Literature · Primary
Germanist, author, teacher. Publishes on reading socialisation in early readers.
Mathematics & CS · Middle
PhD in mathematics (EPFL). Previously taught at Kantonsschule Zurich Nord; developed an acceleration curriculum.
Sciences · Primary & Middle
Environmental scientist, field biologist. Leads our outdoor programmes, certified in experiential pedagogy.
History, Philosophy, Latin
Classical philologist, Magister at Sapienza Rome. Teaches philosophy for children with P4C certification.
Music & Ensemble
Concert pianist, music educator. Leads our ensemble and the individual instrumental programme.
Craft & Makerspace
Master carpenter and designer. Previously subject teacher at the Steiner school in Bern. Brings real craft culture into the house.
04 — In-house experts
These specialists are on site daily or on fixed hours. They are part of the team — not external consultants.
Occupational Therapist
Specialised in sensory integration and graphomotorics; active in adult education on 2E.
Speech Therapist
Focus on dyslexia, stuttering, auditory processing. Works closely with the psychological service.
School Doctor · Consilium
Child and adolescent psychiatrist; advisor on medical questions.
Mediator & Nonviolent Communication
Supports the team and children in conflicts, establishes class-council structures.
05 — Foundation Board
SOLA is a foundation under Swiss law. The board serves on a volunteer basis and is responsible for long-term strategy, finances and independence of the school.
